Is that marker? How did you achieve the atmospheric perspective with the tree? It’s something I’ve never quite achieved with markers….but I love the shading on her shoulder armor!
Yup. It’s marker. But it’s on bristol board so it’s not the best blend… those shouldn’t be bands of color behind her but one gradation. Live and Learn.
You’ve given me an idea for my youtube channel… maybe I’ll do the occasional “How I dun it” vid. But the process here isn’t tricky. I just started with T00 and layered until somewhere around T05. I didn’t do black line on the tree to make it look blury compared to the chunky line work I did on Ran.
There are alot of things I really like about this comic, and alot of things I’d like to praise. But I’d like to take a moment to really stand up and applaud your character designs. I still haven’t seen a character I don’t like. Such fantastic attention to detail, and beautiful execution. Great balance between practicality and visual flair.
Thanks a lot. I really love these characters like children, and it’s great when someone else tells me they do too.
