02I.01 – The Ballad of The Woodcutter’s Wife.
This week’s intermission piece is “The Tale of the Woodcutter’s Wife”. It’s a fragment of ChooWol’s back-story and unlike previous intermission pieces it’s a double-page spread.
I was joined on CoLD by Patrick Trahey and we talked about his kickstarter among other things.
I really like the composition in this one, how it leads the eyes from the pile of wood to the character. Chopping wood is serious exercise, mang.
Fun random fact: there was a Choo-Wol in my 7th grade (or rather, 1st year of middle school) class. It was an unusual name and she had an unusual surname to boot. Some students made fun of it often, poor thing.
But was she strong as an oxe? Maybe two?
